Chris and David hail from the UK but have settled in San Francisco where they can finally enjoy Thanksgiving and President’s Day. Chris previously worked at McKinsey and David at Barclays.
Happy Tree produces Maple Water, the finest raw and organic maple water sourced from trees in the US. Maple Water aspires to be the next Coconut Water with twice the electrolytes and half the sugar. Ari Tolwin was previously an Associate at McKinsey and spends most of his days figuring out the next maple water flavor.

SoapBox Soaps makes really amazing soap and wash products (try the Black Bar soap!). And they are also trying to change the world – every purchase of SoapBox soaps sends a bar of soap, fresh water, or vitamins to a child in need. David and Daniel are “hustlers” in the best sense of the world, with previous start-up experience and time at Teach For America and IBM.
Kaz Nejatian, Danny Su and Geoff Flarity
A team of Canadians and YC alumni taking on the credit card companies. Kash's multi-year mission is to “clear financial transactions instantly (like cards) and have much lower fees and fraud rates (like ACH.)” Kaz and team want to reduce payment costs nearly to zero. The mission is in large part inspired by Kaz's experiences as a child working in his parents' store and watching the credit card companies make more money each month than his parents. Caroline Ghosn and Amanda Poucho
Launched in 2012, Levo was founded by Caroline Ghosn (the current CEO of the company) and Amanda Pouchot. The founders met at their first corporate jobs working for McKinsey & Company in New York. Caroline and Amanda were inspired to leave McKinsey and start Levo in 2011 after reflecting on the limited career opportunities and resources available to millennials (including the fact that LinkedIn was a bit "out of touch" with the millennial segment). Today Levo is a leading network for millennials in the workplace

Vinay Patel, Alex Gasner and Max Gasner
Vinay, Alex and Max are tackling a big meaty problem (the kind we like). There are 70+ million individuals in the United States who have been cut out of the traditional banking system. Bee is a mobile-only bank targeting the un- and under-banked. We want the Bee team to prove this model works because we are invested and because the product genuinely makes customers lives better.

Push For Pizza is a mobile app that allows you to order pizza to your home with the push of one button. This may sound like something silly dreamed up by hungry teenagers...and in fact, it is. But these are not ordinary teenagers. Max and Cyrus have been friends and entrepreneurs since childhood, selling their first business while in high school in Brooklyn, NY. And the idea is no longer silly. Max and Cyrus have foregone college and turned this silliness into a real business with big dollars attached. These entrepreneurs are pursuing the road less traveled. GuardHat is creating next-generation wearable and IoT technology for industrial companies that helps keep workers safer in their day-to-day jobs. The opportunity here is huge and real lives are at stake too (e.g., more than 4,000 people fatalities in the US each year in industrial work). Led by Saikat, former CEO of Severstal NA and an Associate Partner at McKinsey, the team could not be better suited to crack this one.
Sam leads a founding team that includes his father and his younger brother. Bevager is rapidly transforming how the nation’s most renowned restaurants manage their bars. By delivering an all-in-one system that connects inventory, ordering, and costing, Bevager drastically reduces the time it takes to maintain a bar and improves each system along the way.
Tommy Sowers, Shayne Sowers, and Narayan Krishnan
Tommy and team have set out to revolutionize the home buying market. SoloPro is a community platform that enables the ultimate home buyer rebate of 3% for do-it-yourself home buyers by connecting them to real estate agents who offer their unbundled services for a small fee. Prior to SoloPro, Tommy led teams at the VA, at McKinsey, and in the military. He's also run for US government. Given that the founding story involves some possible misdemeanors, we'll save that for another time.
Paul is a native Texan. He made his way up to the Northeast for college and then stuck around in the "Big City" for McKinsey and Private Equity at Catterton. However Paul always wanted to find a way to get back to Texas. Now he has. Tecovas sells hand-crafted, gorgeous cowboy boots in a smooth digital experience. Paul is now happy with Tecovas born and quartered in Austin. If you see us in cowboy boots in NYC you'll know why.
John is a former McKinsey consultant, GM at AOL, and start-up guy. DealSafe was borne out of his experiences in the professional world where he found that often companies didn't have transparency into major contracts and relationships with suppliers, vendors, and partners. DealSafe is a platform for storing, managing, and visualizing these relationships and contracts.
Rudy Bellani and Zach Marks
As a PhD student in neuroscience at Rockefeller University, Rudy found it hard to find resources and options for graduates who wanted to find a job outside academia. He sorted it out himself and ended up landing at McKinsey where he met Zach. Fast forward to today, Zach and Rudy have founded Oystir, a skills-based employment platform for connecting STEM graduates with jobs outside of academia.
John Garbarino and Spencer Ante
John and Spencer live in Maplewood, New Jersey. It's the New Jersey 'burbs'. When John needed to find a painter for his house, he realized how incredibly hard it was to find someone he trusted online but how easy it was to find someone based on friend recommendations. Out of this was born WhoWeUse, a digital platform with a unique way of connecting consumers with local service providers. They are launching in 1Q 2016. In the meantime, be sure to stop by 'GarBar', John's homemade bar in his garage.
Karam Malhotra and Dominic Charles
Karam and Dom are both former McKinsey consultants. They'd been working in the tech space at McKinsey and ran across a company called V-Nova that had a propreitary video compression technology called Perseus. Seeing an opportunity, they handed in their resignation letters, exclusively licensed the tech and launched fastfilmz. fastfilmz is a video-on-demand service that seeks to push the boundaries for how India’s 250m smartphone users watch movies.
Christopher is an industrial engineer and former consultant from McKinsey. He's really passionate about decision-making and design. And hence was born Curio, a platform that links the visual power of the brain with machine learning to let people explore options and overcome the paradox of choice. If that's too high-minded for you, think "Tinder for products". Besides being a dad and husband, Christopher also lives and works in Atlanta.

SpokenLayer transforms written stories into SpokenEditions from top publishers like HuffingtonPost, Reuters, and Wired. SpokenLayer's unique turnkey ecosystem for digital spoken content handles creation, hosting, distribution, monetization and analytics. Brad was Will’s data mining professor at Lehigh, where they discovered their shared belief that digital and spoken audio will become critical as mobile and voice interactions become pervasive. "Hey Alexa...give me the news...."
3DBio is working hard to address unmet medical needs by merging tissue engineering techniques with digital manufacturing (3D printing). More details to come. Dan was previously an Engagement Manager at McKinsey and before that completed a Ph.D. in engineering.
PulseData software drives preventive action, saves medical cost and is on a mission to eliminate preventable sicknesses. Teddy left Wall Street in 1999 to co-found an instant messaging/co-browsing company, and has been building startups ever since (a detour through business school and Bain consulting).
C. Massoumi, O. Kharraz and N. Ganju
ZocDoc started in 2007 after Cyrus Massoumi, then a consultant at McKinsey, busted his eardrum on a flight and could not get a doctor appointment for 3+ days. ZocDoc is a digital marketplace for doctors and consumers to connect. Cyrus founded ZocDoc with Oliver Kharraz (also McKinsey) and Nick Ganju.
Ashley Albert and Jonathan Schnap
Royal Palms, already a premier destination, is a shuffleboard hospitality concept that launched their first venue in Gowanus Brooklyn less than a year ago. Ashley and Jonathan formed the concept in between tech consulting, singing in a children’s band, and making jewelry. They have plans to bring shuffleboard to all of the US.
Mark Ramadan and Scott Norton
Mark and Scott founded Sir Kensington’s while at Brown University. Through a series of ketchup and french fry tasting sessions, they settled on a premium, all-natural ketchup to take on Heinz. Five years later, Sir Kensington's is sold across the US and is an award-winning producer of ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard.
